Home Craftsman Windows 8100 Series.
The Home Craftsman Windows – 8100 Series Window is this manufacturers flagship product. This product is generally offered to the Dallas / Ft. Worth area but is regularly trucked to the largest markets of Texas and Oklahoma. If purchased locally, the Home Craftsman Windows 8100 Series is a mid-grade window with a budget window price tag.
We are big fans of this product for many reasons. Obviously the affordability is it’s most attractive feature but the quality of this window would be impressive even at a higher cost. The Home Craftsman Windows 8100 Series window is offered in 3 extruded colors (white, beige and clay) and includes a Lifetime Fully Transferable Warranty. The fusion welded vinyl frame is narrow, allowing for more glass and better views while decreasing the amount of visible vinyl but is still strong enough to accommodate larger windows. The hardware is also impressive. Each Home Craftsman Windows 8100 Series window includes low profile locks that are difficult to see from the exterior.
The Home Craftsman Windows 8100 Series vinyl replacement window is only offered in “Single Hung”. Meaning, the top glass is sealed directly to the frame and does not move while the bottom (or operable) sash slides open and tilts in.
Home Craftsman Windows 8100 Series – Colors

Home Craftsman – 8100 Series / Exterior Colors
The extruded color option of Clay is significant. Most manufacturers extrude white and beige (or Almond) colorsbut there are only a few that extrude the Clay color without a significant upcharge. We at Adams Exteriors still warn our customers of the danger of dark colored vinyl. Dark colors absorb more heat and could warp under the hot Texas sun but we have never had this experience with the Clay color – and we’ve installed thousands. Beyond this, there really aren’t any color options that we would feel safe recommending. Home Craftsman Windows will paint their vinyl windows bronze, red or green but I we would have trouble recommending them or offering a workmanship warranty on a product that could need service down the road.
Home Craftsman Windows 8100 Series – Options
The Home Craftsman Windows 8100 Series window is offered with many glass options such as obscure (standard and rain), triple pane and lots of Energy Efficiency packages but the real selling point to this window is the price-point and quality of the base model without upgrades. This window is built specifically for Energy Efficiency in the Texas climate. There are no hardware options or sculptured grids but there doesn’t have to be. This is a high-quality, low-cost, functional window with a Lifetime / Fully Transferable Warranty that you can count on.
Installing Home Craftsman Windows
Our history at Adams Exteriors is primarily centered around installation. This is the one factor that isn’t listed in brochures or manufacturer reviews. How a window is built can play a role in how difficult a window is to install. This matters because the installation of your window is half of the deal. If a window is difficult to install, that increases the chances of it being installed incorrectly. If a window is too rigid, it won’t flex with the natural movement of a home and if the window isn’t rigid enough it will bow out of shape and become impossible to lock. Having said all of that, the Home Craftsman 8100 Series Window is fantastic to install. This is a rigid vinyl frame that is supported by the strength of the top (fixed) sash. Only the movable portion of the window could bow out of square and even then, the pliability of the vinyl corrects this concern. Installers must be careful not to set a window on its corner, applying too much stress on the low profile locking hardware but that’s our only concern.
Home Craftsman Windows 8100 Series – Warranty
The Home Craftsman Windows 8100 Series Warranty is exactly the same as most other reputable window manufacturers – Limited Lifetime Warranty that covers virtually every part of the window but not installation. Finding a reputable vinyl replacement window company in Dallas might be as important as finding the right window. As they say, a great installer can overcome a bad window but a bad installer will ruin a good one. Along with the manufacturer warranty, be sure that you get a good workmanship warranty from your installation company.
Home Craftsman Windows 8100 Series – Cost
Home Craftsman Windows sets the pricing on their windows. In the Dallas / Ft. Worth area the Home Craftsman Windows 8100 Series window can be purchased and installed for between $300 – $420 per window. Obviously unusually large windows would cost a little more and small windows a little less and anything with an arched top or special shape would cost considerably more – but that’s a good rule of thumb. As with all other manufacturers, anything that can be labeled “specialty” (color, shape, glass, hardware) can increase the average cost of your windows considerably.
Adams Exteriors and the Home Craftsman 8100 Series
The Home Craftsman Windows 8100 Series window is a window that we have proudly installed for over a decade. This window allows Adams Exteriors to compete with “bottom of the barrel” window installers by offering a mid-grade window near their prices. This is the most affordable window that we offer but the quality is comparable and even exceeds that of some much more expensive products. Customers who purchase this window like the narrow frame, the third extruded color option and the sound efficiency but what we hear most often is how quiet the Home Craftsman Windows 8100 Series window is.
